Degree Awarded : 2000 Title of the Thesis : “Encroachment in the Bed of the River Yamuna and its Effects in Flood Management” The M.Phil. thesis employed remote sensing and GIS in detail to evaluate the nature and extent of encroachments in the bed of the river Yamuna. IRS-1C LISS-III and PAN data has been used to identify and map the LULC in the study area. GIS has been used to model the effects of such encroachments in flood management. 6. Doctoral Degree Awarded : 2008 Title of the Thesis : “Land Use and Land Cover Change in Damodar Basin: A Spatial Modeling Approach” In the Ph.D. thesis, LULC mapping and modeling the future LULC was the central aspect of research. The LULC has been evaluated using IRS-1D, LISS-III, PAN data. GIS has been used to study complex interactions of various human activities and LULC and their controlling factors and to predict the future LULC using Markov Random Field. 7. Post-Doctoral Research : 2014-15 Title of the Research : “Atmospheric Remote Sensing for Quantifying Air Pollution” The Post-Doctoral Research work used various Remote Sensing and GIS Techniques to quantify atmospheric pollution in relation to Public Health. 8.
