Gurmessa Bekele J

Bekele Gurmessa received his BEd in Physics and Mathematics in 2003 from Alemaya University, Ethiopia, and a master's degree in Physics in 2007 from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. He received his Ph.D. in Physics in 2015 from North Dakota State University under the supervision of Professor Andrew Croll. Bekele is now a postdoctoral researcher at the University of San Deigo, working with Professor Rae Anderson to study the Microscale mechanics and structural dynamics of actin networks at the cellular level. Bekele will join the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Bucknell University as an Assistant Professor in 2019. His current research interests include problems in the mechanics of cytoskeletal composite networks, nanoscale thin film, and their combinations.
