Barbara Jachimska is a Professor at the Jerzy Haber Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences. She obtained an M.Sc. in Material Engineering and Ceramic and M.Sc. in Environmental Protection from AGH University of Science and Technology. She holds a Ph.D. with honors in chemistry and a Doctor of Sciences (Habilitation) degree, both of which were received from Jerzy Haber Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry in 2001 and 2012, respectively. Barbara Jachimska’s work interests include polymers, proteins and the assembly behavior of biopolymers and in particular, the study of adsorption, adhesion and interfacial phenomena in nanocolloidal systems. She has undertaken several internships internationally, including research stays in Germany, France, and the UK. She has also participated in the implementation of tens of research projects. The results of her studies have been presented at many international conferences and she is the co-author of more than 60 articles published in international journals. In 2015 she was awarded a scholarship from the Polish Ministry of Education to take part in the “TOP 500 Innovators” program organized jointly by the University of Cambridge Enterprise and Oxentia University of Oxford. She has experience as an organizer of several international conferences and workshops, and also as a co-organizer of events devoted to technological innovation such as the Polish American Innovation Bridge (PAMI) in the frame of Global Entrepreneurship Week of the Malopolska Region and as a member of the Editorial Board of the journal “Innovation & Impact”.
