I am an accomplished scientist in Immunology and Xenotransplantation. The focus of my research is Cardiac Xenotransplantation (CXTx). I am testing genetically engineered (GE) pig hearts and an Immunosuppression for CXTx to prevent xenograft rejection. Recently, demonstrated the first successful transplantation of the GE pig heart into a human after US FDA approval. The goal is to make clinical Cardiac Xenotransplantation the preferred treatment choice for end-stage heart failure patients.
