Astrid Watrin Pinzano

Astrid PINZANO, 47 years old, 65 international publications, received her Ph.D from UHP Nancy in 2001. After a one-year post-doctoral fellowship at Institute of Biomechanics in Bern university (Switzerland) she integrated in 2003 the CNRS for a permanent position of researcher. From 2018, she is co-leader of the team BioReMaTCh “Bio-engineering, Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Characterization” within the UMR 7365 CNRS – UL IMoPA. From 2020, she obtained a permanent position of research director in CNRS within the UMR 7365 CNRS – UL IMoPA. She has received bronze medal of CNRS 2015, Suzanne ZIVI 2014, CASDEN young researcher 2013, and NEGMA LERADS 2005. She was heavily involved in different projects for several years in multidisciplinary specialties of cartilage bioengineering using mesenchymal stem cells, cartilage characterization & regenerative medicine (ANR JCJC CESOMIC (2005-08), ANR Blanc CEMABIR (2009-12), ANR Blanc IPSIOAT (2010-14), ANR ASTRID BLOC-PRINT (2016-19). Their main themes of research concern (1) the cartilage engineering, in particular by using different cell sources of MSCs, (2) the development of functionalized biomaterials and their bio-functionality in animals’ models, (3) the regenerative medicine of OA diffuse lesions, (4) the osteoarticular tissue characterization by imaging. She collaborates daily with clinicians, rheumatologists, orthopedic surgeons, or radiologists of the University and Hospital of Nancy.
