Aryse Melo

Graduated in Biological Sciences by the Federal University of Pelotas (2010), Brazil. Master of Science from the Graduate Program in Veterinary Medicine at the Federal University of Pelotas, Brazil, concentration area - Preventive Veterinary Medicine (2015), and PhD from the Graduate Program in Microbiology and Parasitology at the Federal University of Pelotas (2020) Brazil. Approved by the CAPES PDSE program for a sandwich period at the National Institute of Health Dr. Ricardo Jorge, in Lisbon, Portugal. I have experience in the Microbiology area, with emphasis on Respiratory Viruses, Molecular Diagnosis, Next Generation Sequencing, Mycology (genetic characterization and molecular and phenotypic antifungal resistance characterization) and Serology. I am currently superior technician at the National Reference Laboratory for Influenza and Other Respiratory Viruses at the Dr. Ricardo Jorge, in Lisbon, Portugal, where I work with Diagnosis and genetic and antigenic characterization of Respiratory Viruses. I participate of several projects at National and International level, mainly regarding the surveillance and genetic characterization of the Influenza virus and the Respiratory Syncytial virus, and contribute to studies on the vaccines effectiveness against Influenza and SARS-CoV-2.
