Arvid S Haugen currently works at the Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care, Haukeland University Hospital. Main research fields are in Anaesthetics and Surgery. Current projects are on patients' checklists, surgical safety checklists, and safety culture. Haugen is Professor at Oslo Metropolitan University. Member of the European Society of Anaesthesiologists' Patient Quality and Safety Committee, as representative for the International Federation of Nurse Anesthetists.
