Antonio Ferraz

António Ferraz was born in Antas de Penedono, Portugal. He received the M.S. degree in geomatics engineering from Universidade de Coimbra, Coimbra, Portugal, in 2007 and the Ph.D. degree in geophysics from the Institute de Physique du Globe de Paris, Paris, France, in 2012. From November 2007 to January 2014, he was with the French National Institute for Geographic Information and Forestry, Paris. Since May 2014, he has been with the NASA Postdoctoral Program at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA, USA. His main research interests include remote sensing of vegetation, optical image and 3-D point cloud processing, direct retrieval of forest variables using airborne laser scanning systems, forest 3-D modeling, and large-area carbon and biomass estimation over tropical environments using airborne and satellite data.
