I am primarily involved in research on bone health and fracture injuries in older adults, particularly osteoporosis-related fractures of the hip and lower extremities. Much of my current work focuses on the benefits of long-term bisphosphonate use and risks associated with rare adverse events such as atypical femoral fracture. I am a Fellow and president-elect of the American College of Epidemiology (ACE) and a Fellow of the American Society for Bone & Mineral Research (ASBMR).
