Anna Oevermann is a veterinarian with a degree from the University of Giessen, a Dr. med. vet. from the University of Zurich and the DiplECVP from the University of Bern. She is currently Professor of Veterinary Neuropathology at the Division of Neurological Sciences (DNS, https://www.neurologicalsciences.ch/en/) at the University of Bern, which she joined in 2006. Her professional passion is to advance diagnostic neuropathology in animals and to study the pathomechanisms of neurolisteriosis and tailor-made Listeria monocytogenes -based vaccines with her research group, which is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation and various private agencies. She enjoys interacting with her research and veterinary colleagues and teaching veterinary neuropathology to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
