Anna Luiza Damaceno Araujo

Current occupation I am a postdoctoral fellow at the University of São Paulo Medical School (FMUSP) funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) - Grant number: 2021/14585‐7. My research is focused on Artificial Intelligence applied to Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine. Background I have a consolidated background in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Medicine, and extensive experience in histologic processing. Additionally, I have training in computer-aided approaches for head and neck cancer diagnosis with focus on image processing through Deep Learning (Computer Vision). My comprehension of the processes applied by biomedical engineers while implementing Convolutional Neural Networks allows me to promote/mediate dialogue and facilitate methodological decision-making among multidisciplinary teams. I have been actively involved in research activities focused on the use of Digital Pathology and Artificial Intelligence for diagnosis and prognosis of patients with Head and Neck Cancer, with special emphasis to oral premalignant disorders, squamous cell carcinoma, salivary gland tumours, odontogenic tumours and lymphomas.
