Andrew J. Moore received the B.Sc. degree in engineering science and the Ph.D. degree in optical metrology from Loughborough University, Loughborough, U.K., in 1988 and 1992, respectively. From 1992 to 1997, he was with the Centro de Investigaciones en Optica, Leon, Mexico. In 1997, he joined Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh, U.K., where he is currently a Reader in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. From October 2000 to September 2005, he was an Advanced Research Fellow of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, U.K. Since August 2006, he has been a William Penney Fellow of the Atomic Weapons Establishment, Reading, U.K. His research interests include dynamic full-field optical instrumentation and its application to engineering measurement, fringe pattern analysis, and thermal forming.
