He worked for several years to implement the ACA as a senior adviser within the US Department of Health and Human Services and as the Director of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. He currently serves as the co-editor in chief of the journal, Health Services Research. Dr. Bindman was elected to the National Academy of Medicine in 2015.
