Dr André Briend, has more than 30 years of experience in research in pediatric nutrition in developing countries. As a scientist from the French Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD) he worked several years in Senegal and Bangladesh and collaborated to many research projects in other developing countries. In the late 90’s, he played a major role in the development of Ready to Use Therapeutic Foods (RUTF) which greatly facilitates the management of severe acute malnutrition.
