ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Ph.D. in Geography, Azerbaijan State University, Baku, former USSR, 1985. The title of the dissertation, “Socio- economic and Environmental Factors in Regional Development in Developing Countries: The Case of Bangladesh".
M.Sc. in Environment & Geography (Climatology was one of the major courses), Master's Thesis on Agro-Climatology. Obtained First Class, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, 1977.
Intensive summer course on Sustainable Environment Management organized under Beahrs Environmental Leadership Program hosted by the University of California at Berkeley, July, 2001.
Obtained intensive certificate course on `Environmental Site Assessment', offered by the United States Environmental Training Institute, Seattle and Washington DC, under the US-Asia Environmental Partnership Program, October 10 to 22, 1994.
