I have worked with changes in plant's metabolism after virus inoculation. Initially, I have compared the essential oil composition of Ocimum basilicum plants infected with a vector-transmitted virus. After that, I have analyzed the differences in the phenolic composition, mainly in the content of flavonoids in Physalis angulata plants infected with PVY. Finally, I have studied other defense responses, such as polyamines, nitric oxide and salicylic acid, as well as glutathione and ascorbate content in two pathosystems. Besides, a metabolomic analysis have been performed. All these analyses were performed with spectroscopic techniques. Nowadays, I would like to work with molecular techniques, such as next generation sequencing and real-time PCR applied to the phytopathology field.
