Ali Ghanbari (M'06) received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran, in 1998, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering control from the Iran University of Science and Technology, Tehran, in 2000, and the Ph.D. degree in mechatronics engineering from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand, in 2012. He was a Visiting Researcher with the Centre for Intelligent Systems Research, Institute for Technology Research and Innovation, Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia, from 2009 to 2011. He has been with research and development and engineering departments of research organizations and international engineering corporations, such as with the Power Research Center, MATN, Tehran, from 2000 to 2001, with Schneider Electric, Tehran, from 2005 to 2007, and with Alstom, Sydney, Australia, since 2011. His current research interests include biomedical robotics, bio-MEMS, and control systems.
