个人简介
Alfonso C. Cino was born in Racalmuto, Italy, in 1964. He received the degree in electronic engineering and the Ph.D. degree in electronics, information technology, and telecommunications from the University of Palermo, Palermo, Italy, in 1994 and 1998, respectively, with thesis works on nonlinear integrated optics, and rare-earth doped devices in ferroelectric crystals.
From 1988 to 2000, he was a Researcher, and from 2001 to 2006 the Coordinator, in the Laboratory of Optical Technologies of Center for Electronic Research in Sicily (CRES), Monreale, Italy. From June 1996 to 1997, he was on leave from CRES at the Condensed Matter Physics Laboratory (LPMC), University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, France, as a Visiting Scientist working on parametric processes and optical amplification. In November 2006, he became an Assistant Professor of electromagnetic fields with the University of Palermo. His research work has been devoted to electron microscopy, thin film technologies, integrated optics on glasses and ferroelectrics, lasers, nonlinear optics, optical biosensors.
Dr. Cino is an OSA Member since 2004 and has coauthored more than 80 scientific papers. He serves as a reviewer for several international journals, and since 2009 he is Member of the Steering Committee of the Italian epistemology review Parol.
