I am interested in applied and basic research as well as collection management. My studies primarily focus on invertebrate zoological topics, which I address with a versatile toolbox of DNA-based methods (e.g. DNA barcoding, metabarcoding, ddRAD, PCR genotyping) and for various groups of organisms and ecosystems (e.g. subterranean communities, wild bees, amphipods, ticks). Since some years, environmental DNA-based approaches raised my interest. I am particularly eager to act at the science-policy interface bridging the gap between those two communities.
