Alexander E. Krasnok

Prof. Alex Krasnok is an esteemed academic and researcher in the fields of applied electromagnetics, nanophotonics, metamaterials, plasmonics, and nanotechnology. He earned his Ph.D. with distinction from ITMO University in 2013, and has authored over 170 published papers, five books, book chapters, and four patents. Recognized by the Nobel Laureate Zhores Alferov’s Foundation with a gold medal in 2016 and the Early-Career Award in Nanophotonics in 2021, Prof. Krasnok's research has substantially advanced his disciplines. He has held distinguished research positions at The University of Texas at Austin and CUNY Advanced Science Research Center, where he served as the Founding Director of Photonic Core Facility. Currently, he's an Assistant Professor at Florida International University. Named among the top 2% of global scientists by Elsevier BV and Stanford University, Prof. Krasnok has spearheaded breakthroughs in extreme scattering engineering, nanoantennas, metasurfaces, optics of 2D transition-metal dichalcogenides, and low-loss dielectric nanostructures. His work continues to shape and influence the academic community.
