Alda Huqi

I performed my undergrad studies in Albania and then moved to Italy, Siena, where I started Medical School. Following graduation, I moved to Pisa to get trained in Cardiology. During my training in Cardiology I have been involved in clinical research activity that dealt principally with chronic myocardial ischemic syndromes. In 2010 I obtained a funding from the University of Alberta (Canada) where I moved for a year and learned and performed laboratory research work that dealt with heart metabolism. In 2011 I was selected for the "Resident's elective course" at the New England Journal of Medicine (Boston, MA). Following completion of training in cardiology, I started a PhD program on ischemic heart disease at the university of Pisa, which I completed in November 2015. I am currently employed at a non academic cardiology clinic where I am trying to pursue with research in other cardiology areas, amongst which noninvasive imaging of the diabetic heart.
