Alan Kan (Member, IEEE) received the B.E. degree in telecommunications and the Ph.D. degree in engineering from The University of Sydney, Camperdown, NSW, Australia, in 2002 and 2010, respectively. From 2010 to 2019, he was with the Waisman Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Madison, WI, USA, first as a Postdoctoral Research Associate and later promoted to an Assistant Scientist. In 2019, he joined the School of Engineering, Macquarie University, Macquarie Park, NSW, Australia. His research interests include signal processing, audio virtual reality, psychoacoustics, binaural hearing, and cochlear implants. Dr. Kan is an Elected Committee Member of the Acoustical Society of America—Psychological and Physiological Acoustics Technical Committee, and an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Speech, Language and Hearing Research.
