Alaa Emara Rabee

Alaa Rabee has a Ph.D. in Biotechnology and he is an Associate Professor at Desert Research Center, Egypt, and a Postdoctoral fellow at the University of Maine, USA. Alaa believes that most of the crises that face humanity such as food shortage and climate change are generated by miscommunication between humans and the surrounding ecosystem. Alaa uses a combination of metagenomic techniques and classical microbial aerobic/anaerobic cultivation techniques to explore the microbial wealth in different habitats such as animals and soil to identify and isolate microorganisms with industrial applications such as the production of biofuel and other bioproducts; and to increase the productivity of animal and plant unites. Also, Alaa is exploring natural resources such as agricultural waste, plant extracts, and algae that could be used in animal nutrition.
