Akio Nagasaka

Akio Nagasaka received B.E. and M.E. degrees from Hokkaido University, Japan, in 1989 and 1991, respectively. He joined the Central Research Laboratory of Hitachi Ltd. in 1991 and is presently a Chief Researcher in the Research & Development Group. He has been active in the fields of image processing, multimedia systems, and biometrics. He received a Doctoral Degree in Electronics and Information Engineering from Hokkaido University in 2000. He has also been a Visiting Professor at the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. He is a recipient of Achievement Award, The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers in 2008.
