I obtained my PhD in Cell Biology/Immunology wth honours at the University of Basel (Switzerland). Next, I performed a post-doctoral training (2005-2010), and was promoted to junior faculty (2010-2012) at the Moores Cancer Centre, University of California San Diego. Since 2013, I am a Principal Investigator and Sir Henry Dale Fellow from the Royal Society and the Wellcome trust at the University of Liverpool. My research focuses on understanding the role of the tumour microenvironment on cancer progression and resistance to therapy. Our overall goal is to find more effective combination therapies targeting both the cancer cells and the tumour supporting functions of the tumour microenvironment.
