Career Trajectory
Bio
After my PhD in oceanography from Paris VI University (1992), I joined a small company (IRAP) where I designed rivers restoration projects at the watershed level (“river contracts”) for Drome (1650 km2) and Lez (460 km2) alpine rivers. I was also in charge of the annual water quality assessment of Lake Annecy and I wrote a guide to the restoration of eutrophic lakes for the water agency (2000). Since my arrival at EDF, I have set up environmental monitoring plans to determine the actions needed to reduce hydropeaking impacts on biodiversity (since 2007). To assess the impacts of climate change on biodiversity, I set up the observatory of high altitude natural lakes in 2013 (with a network of scientific partners and managers of French national parks). Since 2001, I have been coordinating the restoration of the Rhine's alluvial biodiversity linked to the new Kembs hydroelectric concession, during which many challenges had to be taken up (aliens species, revitalization of solid transport, restoring wetlands and ancient Rhine arm). Since 2015, I have been a member of the Scientific Council of the Rhone Mediterranée Corse Water Agency. I'm currently involved in developing Biodiversity footprint indicators for Hydropower.
