The lab will investigate plant immunity to pests and pathogens at cellular and whole plant scales. Specific topics will include:
1) Identification and function of immune receptors for novel pest classes, including chewing herbivores
2) Signaling and defense differentiation after receptor activation,
3) Evolution of novel receptor functions across plant populations and species.
