Career Trajectory
Bio
I was born in "Nafch", Shahr-e-Kord (Iran) and this is why one part of my family name is "Nafchi". Because in Iran we have many families named "Mohammadi", so to distinguish which "Mohammadi" my grandpa decided to add "Nafchi" at the end of the family name. :)
I studied Chemical and Food Engineering at Shiraz and Sharif University of Technology, Iran for a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Iran. Then, I continued my research journey in PhD degree at the Universiti Sains Malaysia in the area of Food Biopolymers. Previously I was working as an associate professor at Islamic Azad University, Damghan Branch, Damghan, Iran. Currently working as a visiting lecturer in Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang, Malaysia.
Currently, I lead my research team mostly in the field of smart packaging for foods.
