Career Trajectory
Bio
Dr. Anton S. Tremsin (Ph.D.- applied physics), now is a Full Researcher at the Space Sciences Laboratory, University of California at Berkeley. He got his B Sc and M Sc in 1989 in physics at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and Ph.D. in 1992 at the Russian Academy of Sciences. After his graduate studies Dr. Tremsin received an Honorary Postdoctoral Fellowship of British Royal Society and continued his research at Leicester University, UK. In 1996 Dr. Tremsin joined the University of California at Berkeley, where he continues to work on the development of novel event counting detector for various fields of applications, including Astrophysical ground-based and space missions, synchrotron instrumentation, biomedical imaging and many others. Over last 10 years Dr. Tremsin successfully extended the event counting detection technology into the field of non-destructive testing with neutrons where the unique capabilities of high resolution neutron imaging system enable novel studies. A wide range of new state-of-the art techniques have been demonstrated by Dr. Tremsin over recent years in the field of Materials Science, Structural Engineering, Single Crystal growth and characterization, studies of magnetic phenomena, geosciences and many others. Dr. Tremsin has presented the results of his research at many international conferences and published more than 200 research papers. In addition to his research activities, Dr. Tremsin was a Lecturer at the Physics Department and he serves as a reviewer on a number of scientific committees, review panels of scientific journals and user facilities.
