Andrzej Malag

Andrzej Maląg received the M.S. degree from the Faculty of Electronics of the Technical University of Gdańsk, Poland in 1974 and the Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Electron Technology (IET), Warsaw in 1983. In 1977 – 1983 he was employed by the Institute of Physics, Warsaw (department in Radom) as a researcher with the main interest in DFB lasers. Between 1983 and 1999 he was a member of the research staff of the Optoelectronic Division of IET, responsible for works on heterojunction bipolar transistors, telecom laser diodes (LDs) and finally high power LDs. Since 1999 he is with the Institute of Electronic Materials Technology, Warsaw, as an Assistant Professor and head of Optoelectronics Division in years 2004 - 2018. His present interests are mainly in design, technology and characterization of high power LDs, LW-NIR-emitting LDs and NIR LEDs.
