Amreesh Chandra is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Kharagpur, India. He is also the Head of the first Max Planck Partner Group, IIT Kharagpur. His research group extensively focuses on the use of hierarchical nanostructures of metal oxides for energy applications. The team is amongst the leading groups in India, which deals with the formation of hollow nanostructures and their use in areas ranging from supercapacitors, ion sensing, photo-catalysis, EMI shielding, etc. Prof. Chandra is a recipient of 4 Young Scientist Awards, AvH Connect Fellowship, DST-DAAD IIT Faculty Fellowship, and the Endeavour Research Award by the Government of Australia, has published more than 60 papers, and in on the Editorial Boards of many international journals. He has supervised more than 45 (Ph.D., M.Tech., and M.Sc.) students for their theses/dissertations.
