My research integrates methods from medical informatics, health systems engineering, human factors, and cultural anthropology to characterize patients' living environments and to design and evaluate health information technology interventions based upon these assessments. My research focuses on underserved populations, including populations that are racial/ethnic minorities, are of low socioeconomic status, or are living with disabilities. A complementary focus is methodological development.
