I am a tenured researcher ("Científico Titular") at the Instituto de Microelectrónica de Barcelona IMB-CNM (CSIC). I specialize in technological processes for the fabrication of microelectronic devices and I have extensive experience in the characterization of semiconductor radiation detectors (both in laboratory and in particle beams), simulation of technological processes, radiation effects in semiconductor devices and radiation hard microelectronics. I obtained my PhD in Physics at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona in 2006. Between 2006 and 2008 I worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Glasgow (UK) in the development and validation of a 3D silicon detector technology for synchrotron. Since 2008 I have been a scientist at IMB-CNM where my research line includes the fabrication, design, simulation and test of semiconductor radiation detectors for high energy physics, dosimetry and microdosimetry, nuclear physics, synchrotron and security. I am author or co-author of more than 110 scientific publications and have participated in more than 80 national and international conferences. My work has a high degree of internationalization with 77% of my papers having international co-authors from 48 different countries and more than 140 institutions. I have been “Expert reviewer” of FP7 projects for the European Commission and project evaluator for the FONCyT of the República Argentina. I have supervised 3 doctoral theses, all of them qualified as “Excellent Cum Laude”, with one more currently in preparation.
