个人简介
Faustino Gómez was born in Vigo, Spain, in 1965. He received the degree in physics from the University Autónoma de Madrid, Madrid, Spain, and the Ph.D. degree in particle physics from the University of Santiago (USC), Santiago de Compostela, Spain, in 1988 and 1993, respectively.
In 1993, he joined the Department of Particle Physics, USC, as a Lecturer, where he became a Professor in 2001. From 1993 to 2001, he worked on micropattern gas detectors for high-energy physics. In 2002, he cofounded the research group of Medical Physics, USC, working mainly in the dosimetry discipline. He has been an Invited Professor of Medical Physics with the University of Torino, Turin, Italy. He is currently the Director of the Radiation Physics Laboratory, USC, which is the Spanish Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory at therapy level. Since 2012, he has participated along with other institutions like CNRS, Paris, France, and Centro Nacional de Microelectrónica (CNM), Barcelona, Spain, on the development of silicon-based microdosimetry.
Dr. Gómez has been the Co-Chair of IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium Conference.
