My research focuses on quantitative MR methods to investigate the impact of cancer and its treatment on the developing brain.I have shown that atypical cerebral white matter development in children treated for cancer accounts, in part, for the increased risk of cognitive delays or deficits that impair academic performance, employment opportunities, and quality of life for long-term survivors. My recent work has focused on children treated for medulloblastoma or acute lymphoblastic leukemia(ALL).
