摘要
Objective Evaluate the relations of erythrocyte membrane stability (EMS) with hematological and biochemical variables, and Dopplervelocimetric indices of the ophthalmic artery in 17 patients with severe preeclampsia. Methods The EMS was determined by nonlinear regression of the light extinction by the hemoglobin released in the lysis of erythrocytes incubated in a NaCl gradient. It was expressed by the NaCl range capable of promoting complete hemolysis (dX) and the inverse of the NaCl concentration capable of promoting the lysis of 50% of the erythrocytes (1/H50). The Dopplervelocimetric variables of the ophthalmic artery comprised: resistance (RI) and pulsatility (PI) indices, peak systolic velocity (PSV), peak mesodiastolic velocity (PMV), end diastolic velocity (EDV) and peaks ratio (PR). The existence of relation between each pair of variables was performed by Spearman’s rank correlation analysis. Results The EMS constant dX correlated positively with LDL-C and negatively with PSV, while the EMS constant 1/H50 presented a negative correlation with MCHC. Regarding the hematological variables, Hb correlated positively with AST and RDW correlated positively with LDH and total bilirubin. Regarding the biochemical variables, LDL-cholesterol correlated positively with PR, and VLDL-cholesterol correlated positively with P2 and EDV and negatively with PI. The EMS constant dX correlated positively with LDL-cholesterol and the EMS constant 1/H50 correlated negatively with the Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration (MCHC) and PSV. Hemoglobin (Hb) correlated positively with MCH and AST. LDL-cholesterol correlated positively with P2 and PR, and negatively with iron. VLDL-cholesterol correlated positively with P2, PR and EDV, and negatively with PI. Conclusions In the group of patients with severe preeclampsia here studied, elevation in blood levels of lipids was associated with stabilization of erythrocytes and increased blood flow of the ophthalmic artery, before the tendency for the occurrence of hemolysis.
