I am a board certified Reproductive Endocrinologist with training in biostatistics, research design and conduct. My initial work was focused on quality control in in vitro fertilization (IVF) and long-term outcomes of global endometrial ablation. I was able to successfully build a database for patients undergoing global endometrial ablation at Mayo Clinic. This database has been the source of several seminal contributions to the field of abnormal uterine bleeding. After obtaining a Master’s degree in clinical research, my focus has shifted to studying large populations and conduct population based epidemiologic studies, assessing long-term outcomes of Hysterectomy specifically with ovarian conservation and other common reproductive surgeries like myomectomy on women.
I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester with an infertility practice specializing in all reproductive surgery and fertility preservation. My clinical training in obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive medicine was augmented by a Mayo Clinic Scholar program, which allowed me to travel to centers of excellence across North America and Europe in the field of reproductive surgery and reproductive organ transplant. My practice is dedicated to seeing patients with infertility and specifically those that require fertility enhancing surgery. I currently serve as a PI for the ovarian tissue cryopreservation and transplantation project and have served on guideline panels for the oncofertility consortium. I have also been an active member of the practice committee of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine in charge of putting out a position statement on uterus transplantation. I also serve as the chair for the Mayo Clinic Gynecology/Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility/Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Special Interest Group (SIG).
I continue to conduct clinical studies pertinent to reproductive medicine and IVF and fertility preservation. I also collaborate with my colleagues in Immunology to study molecular mechanisms involved in the pathophysiology of endometriosis and targeting these pathways utilizing epigenetic modulator therapy.
