Combining all these research interests together, her doctoral dissertation examined the governance of government middle schools in Beijing and Delhi, especially how teacher training and career advancement as supportive measures are practiced and perceived on the ground. The dissertation is recipient of the 2019 Best PhD Dissertation Award from Indian Public Policy Network (IPPN) and shortlisted for the 2019 Wang Gungwu Medal and Prize for Best PhD Thesis in the Social Sciences/ Humanities. Her research works are published in journals such as the International Review of Administrative Sciences, Australian Journal of Public Administration, Natural Resources Forum, Chinese Journal of International Politics, Policy Design and Practice, and Asian Education Review. She is also a contributor to platforms such as the World Economic Forum and The Diplomat, among others. In 2020, she is selected as one of the Founders' Fellows by the American Society for Public Administration.
She is currently working on publishing her doctoral dissertation under the series Routledge Critical Studies in Asian Education. Her other ongoing research projects continue to explore how education governance can be improved in both theory and practice through the analytical lens of policy design, policy instrument and capacity. In addition to understanding the policy challenges in India and China as two of the world’s largest developing countries, as well as the potential solutions, she is also ready to explore other emerging-economy contexts. The starting point of this is a recent foundation-funded research project at LSE that studies the replication of a multi-stakeholder and multi-level innovative program in Brazil’s education sector, in collaboration with Brazil’s National School of Public Administration.
