Professor Veena Sahajwalla is producing a new generation of green materials, products and resources made entirely, or primarily, from waste. Sahajwalla is also known for innovating micro-factories. She discovered that small scale factories that were comprised one or more specialized machines were much more sustainable. Factories of this scale could be implemented in existing manufacturing businesses to recycle available waste.
