个人简介
My research interests are in optical and ultrasonic nondestructive methods of materials characterization, mesoscale integrated optical sensors, and scalable nanofabrication. I have published over 200 technical articles, and hold one patent. My research has been sponsored to the tune of over US$12M over the past two decades by several federal agencies including the US National Science Foundation, the Air Force Office of Sponsored Research, the Office of Naval Research, the Federal Aviation Administration, the Department of Transportation etc., and industry such as GE, Caterpillar and Honeywell etc. I have supervised 19 PhD students and several Master’s students who have gone on to successful careers in academia and industry.
Over the years, I have developed extensive research collaborations with organizations across the globe, particularly in China, India, Korea and Europe. As a consequence of these interactions, I have become interested in fostering global connectivity between academics. I have recently founded Tuterra Corporation, which provides a platform to link expert educator teams with global education organizations. Tuterra intends to leverage Internet technology to create meaningful partnerships between global expert educator teams and accredited educational organizations that seek to augment their local faculty resources.
