His research interests include nonlinear dynamics and control, pattern formation, chaos, noise, semiconductor laser dynamics, transport in semiconductor nanostructures, and self-organized growth kinetics. He is the author of about 400 research papers and three books, and the editor of several monographs and topical journal issues.,Dr. Schöll is the Chairman of the Collaborative Research Center SFB 910 “Control of Self-Organizing Nonlinear Systems: Theoretical Methods and Concepts of Application.” He was the organizer of several international conferences including Dynamics Days Europe in 2005, the 72nd Annual German Physical Society Meeting in 2008, the 76th Annual German Physical Society Meeting in 2012, and International Conferences on Delayed Complex Systems in Dresden 2009 and in Palma de Mallorca 2012.
