The research interests of Professor D’Acunto lie in novel design and construction approaches that enable a more efficient use of material resources by taking advantage of the interplay between form and forces in building structures. His work entails the development of computational design methods at the interface of architecture and structural engineering. In addition, he investigates innovative material systems and construction approaches that make use of emerging technologies such as additive manufacturing and robotic fabrication.
