Cuadernos de educación y desarrollo(2024)
摘要
We describe the first record of Phyllomedusa camba in Mato Grosso, Brazil. Here, we present that the species, a member of the Phyllomedusa tarsius group, was identified in the municipality of Juara, significantly expanding its distribution in the region. Observations of specimens crossing roads and on the edges of primary forests, influenced by temporary puddles, indicate a remarkable adaptation to different environments. The importance of this new record emphasizes the need for future studies on environmental changes and their impacts on P. camba populations. Currently classified as Least Concern by the IUCN, scarce records predominantly from areas undergoing economic exploitation underscore the relevance of this study for understanding the ecology and conservation of the species. These results provide a significant contribution, offering insights into distribution patterns, behavior, and adaptation of P. camba. This finding is essential for disseminating knowledge, encouraging further research, and contributing to the formulation of effective conservation policies for the species.
