Sinus Bradycardia Due to Intravenous Corticosteroid Administration in a Pediatric Patient with Rapidly Progressive Glomerulonephritis: A Case Report
JCA Advances(2024)
摘要
Corticosteroids are used to treat a variety of medical conditions, and have many well-known adverse effects associated with their use. There is less known about the arrhythmogenic potential of corticosteroids. Profound steroid-induced bradycardia is a rare phenomenon reported with high dose intravenous corticosteroid therapy. Though it is often asymptomatic, anesthesiologists must be vigilant to recognize the bradycardia and risk of progression to cardiac arrest when these patients are administered anesthetic agents.
