Synthesis of MIL-53(Al)@rGO Composite and Its Application in Congo Red Removal from Aqueous Media
Vietnam Journal of Catalysis and Adsorption(2024)
Abstract
The MIL-53(Al)@rGO composite was prepared by a simple one-pot solvothermal method. The material was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron spectroscopy (SEM) and Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) techniques. The result shows the uniform loading of MIL-53(Al) particles with the porous morphology onto the rGO substrate. Adsorption performances of MIL-53(Al)@rGO and MIL-53(Al) for congo red (CR) were studied. It reveals that the adsorption equilibrium was reached after 15 minutes, and the adsorption efficiency of MIL-53(Al)@rGO (93.45%) is better than the virgin MIL-53(Al) (70.03%). The adsorption kinetics of the composite are fit with Langmuir isothermal adsorption model with the maximum capacity of 128.21 mg/g.
