摘要
This chapter focuses on the interpersonal counseling (IPC) scale-up in Mozambique. It acknowledges that mental disorders consistently rank in the top leading causes of burden globally, which is incredibly disproportionate in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). A national scale-up program of IPC for the treatment of common mental disorders to reduce the treatment gap in access to care is discussed. The chapter explains adapting IPC for the Mozambique context through the training of trainers, national scale-up efforts, and development of the mHealth app. It discusses the National Health Service’s psychological support during the COVID-19 crisis before elaborating on the challenges concerned with the scale-up and implementation.
