摘要
The poly (isobutylcyanoacrylate) (PIBCA) nanoparticles stand out for being developed by biodegradable monomer and presenting simple techniques for obtaining them. Also, these nanoparticles allow their surface modification using polysaccharides that can act as a guiding agent assisting in encapsulated drug pharmacological activity. Therefore, this work aimed to evaluate the use of PIBCA nanoparticles, obtaining techniques and applications, to understand whether these nanoparticles show promising potential for a future therapeutic application. For this, we carried out a bibliographic survey, covering the period from 1984 to 2023, using the descriptors “Nanotechnology,” “Nanoparticles,” “PIBCA,” “Poly (isobutylcyanoacrylate),” and “Isobutylcyanoacrylate” in the following ScienceDirect, MEDLINE, CAPLUS, and SciFinder databases. After the bibliographic survey, 71 articles were included in the study, to which the articles were divided by themes: isobutylcyanoacrylate: biocompatible and biodegradable polymer, methods of obtaining PIBCA nanoparticles, main polysaccharides used to obtain PIBCA nanoparticles, and polymers used to obtain the nanoparticles of PIBCA. We observed that depending on the chosen technique, it is possible to obtain PIBCA nanoparticles with different morphological characteristics and that can interact in different ways with the biological system, as well as changes in methodological parameters, such as pH, temperature, and stirring time, can influence the size of the nanoparticles obtained.
