Application of Virtual Reality in Heart Ultrasound Education

We developed a heart-ultrasound teaching platform using virtual reality (VR) technology for immersive learning. This platform can replace expensive teaching simulators, dummies, or people for simulated teaching. The all-in-one VR machine is easy to install and makes heart ultrasound learning more flexible. Learners can learn through repeated operations multiple times or operate with multiple people in the classroom at the same time. This platform used a rich image database to enhance learners’ experience in practicing medical ultrasound. We established learning content for teaching which was tested for more than 50 intern doctors. Teaching content for other organs plans to be added to the platform.
