Individualized rotation of left double lumen endobronchial tube to improve placement success rate: a randomized controlled trial

In conventional practice, the left double lumen tube (DLT) is rotated 90° counterclockwise when the endobronchial cuff passes glottis. Success rate upon the first attempt is < 80 Question: Whether the first attempt success rate of individualized left double lumen tube (DLT) rotation based on the angle of the left main bronchi is higher than the traditional intubation method of 90° counterclockwise rotation? Findings: The first attempt success rate was 91.4 Meaning: Individualized rotation of left DLT increased the first attempt success rate versus the conventional 90° counterclockwise rotation.
