Abdominal Painful Mass after Prolonged Standing: Nephroptosis in a 30-Year-old Woman
Lancet (London, England)(2024)
Abstract
A 30-year-old woman was referred to our urology clinic reporting a 2-year history of pain in the right flank. The patient said the pain was worse after physical exercise or after standing up for a long time; after these activities, she said a painful abdominal mass would be present, which subsequently disappeared when she rested for a few minutes in a supine decubitus position. Additionally, she reported that her symptoms, which had started without any identified reason, had been getting worse and had begun to affect her ability to carry out her daily routine.
